SAN DIEGO--Chargers running back Darren Sproles surprised everybody by showing up to offseason workouts 30 pounds lighter, bringing his weight down to 155 pounds. Sproles, who said he was in the best shape of his life, credited his weight loss to a new offseason training regimen. “I've got this whole new workout regimen that's been working wonders for me,” said Sproles. “ I'm in the best shape of my life. I can run faster, I'm more elusive, and now that I'm so small, people will feel guilty about tackling me because I might die.” Team officials, however, were concerned, saying that while they ordered the players to come to camp faster and lighter, they were referring to the fat fucks on the offensive and defensive lines.
