Royals Refuse To Get Excited About 2-1 Start |
April 9, 2012 |
OAKLAND--Kansas City is abuzz about the Royals hot 2-1 start, but the team isn’t buying into the hype just yet, not with 159 games still to go and a difficult division to contend with. “It’s still very early in the season,” said starter Luke Hochevar, tied for the lead league in wins with 1. “We’ve played well but we still have a long way to go. Am I excited about the way we’ve played so far? Yes, how can you not be? We’ve won twice as many games as we lost and, frankly, I think we’ve been one of the best teams of this young season. That being said, anything can happen between now and September, so let’s not break out the champagne just yet.”
