CHICAGO--The Chicago Cubs, who haven’t won a World Series since 1908, have now gone 43 years without winning a Super Bowl. The hard luck franchise hopes to turn its fortunes around this season. “Every year it’s ‘Wait till next year,’ but it gets a little old after a while,” said first baseman Derek Lee, entering his seventh season with the Cubs. “Now you see the Saints go out there and win a Super Bowl, a team that had never won a Super Bowl, and you wonder, ‘When’s it gonna be our turn?’ It’s kind of discouraging, especially since we don’t even play in the NFL, but we still probably have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl than a World Series. I mean our Super Bowl drought is only half as long.”
