LEXINGTON, KY--Kentucky coach John Calipari announced today that he would leave school to enter the NBA draft, joining John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Daniel Orton, and Patrick Patterson as former Wildcats jumping to the NBA. “It’s been a great ride here but I think I’m ready to move on to the next level,” Calipari said today. “I will miss Kentucky, but honestly, it’s going to be pretty lean here for the next few years. All the players are pretty much gone and whatever hot-shot recruits we can snare for next season will only be around for one or two years. So I guess you can call me a one-and-doner. Bye!” According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Calipari is projected to go in the late first round of the draft.
