Hapless Grizzlies Can’t Even Tank Properly |
January 14, 2010 |
MEMPHIS--The Memphis Grizzlies, under orders from the front office to tank the season in order to land prized prospect John Wall, have instead surged to a 19-18 record, leaving players and coaches searching for answers.“I don’t know what to say,” said head coach Lionel Collins after a victory against the Utah Jazz. “I told the players about a month ago to start tanking the season and all they've done is win. Typical Grizzlies. They can’t do anything right. I’m kind of embarrassed to be the coach of this team right now, to tell you the truth.” Said center Zach Randolph: “We’re doing the best we can, but you know, we’ve never been the most coachable bunch.”
