New Jersey-Bound John Calipari Shoots Down Chicago Rumors |
May 13 , 2010 |
CLEVELAND--Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari today vehemently denied rumors that he is interested in the Chicago Bulls coaching vacancy, insisting instead that he is “totally focused” on taking the New Jersey Nets job. “Guys, guys, stop with all the rumors, okay?” Calipari said after attending the Cavs-Celtics game on Tuesday. “For the last time, I am not interested in the Chicago Bulls coaching job. Do I make myself clear? Yes, it’s a nice job. Yes, they have some intriguing pieces. But I’m very happy and content with my situation right now, which is that I am in talks with that Russian dude to take over the Nets for about $12 million a year. So enough with all the rumors, okay? They’re irresponsible.” Calipari did say he was happy at Kentucky, but pointed out that he was happy at Memphis, too, and that didn’t stop him from leaving. |
